Founded in 1882, the Rosary Society is the oldest parish organization at Saint Cecilia Church. Serving now both Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and Saint Cecilia Parish, its mission is to foster a deeper devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary through the prayer of the Holy Rosary while encouraging the spiritual growth, fellowship, and service of its members.
The Society meets on the first Saturday of each month, from September through June. Members gather at 7:30 a.m. in the church to pray the Rosary before the 8:00 a.m. Mass, followed by a meeting in Hayes Hall.
Throughout the year, the Rosary Society sponsors a variety of parish activities, including religious awards for graduating eighth-grade students, a Lenten Day of Recollection, and seasonal Craft Fairs. Members also serve the parish through works of devotion and care, including assisting with the cleaning of the church and laundering the purificators used during the celebration of Mass.
New members are always welcome.
